In its four seasons on HBO, True Blood has proven that it’s not only a fan favorite television series, but it’s highly influential (just how popular were vampires five years ago?!). Thanks to creator Alan Ball, he’s assembled an incredible cast of actors, writers, and staff who have taken the show from a million viewers to more than six million, and he’s made “Sookie” a household name (it’s true – Sookie was the hottest rising baby name for girls in 2010!). The standard for influence, Klout, reviewed current TV shows (both long-running and newcomers) to come up with the Klout Score, which measures influence based on your ability to drive action. The Klout Score uses data from social networks in order to measure True Reach (how many people you influence), Amplification (how much you influence them), and Network Impact (the influence of your network). Their top 10 most influential TV shows are:
1. HBO’s True Blood
2. Lifetime Television’s Project Runway
3. ABC Family’s Pretty Little Liars
4. Comedy Central’s The Daily Show
5. Fox’s Glee
6. CBS’s Big Brother
7. Showtime‘s Dexter
8. HBO’s Game of Thrones
9. TBS’s Conan
10. NBC’s America’s Got Talent
The highest score you can get is 100 and True Blood scored an 81, so awesome job True Blood! Any thoughts on whether or not other shows should have made the list, Truebies? Let us know in the comment section below.
