As you may remember I just received a lovely Trespass Florissant waterproof jacket which is perfect in these storms we've been having and makes the school run much more enjoyable! Well, as you may know we are also avid walkers, often off for family walks and days out at the weekends and holiday in Scotland a couple of times a year. So a new pair of Trespass waterproof walking boots wouldn't go amiss!
Trespass waterproof walking boots review
I was delighted when Trespass sent me the ladies Tensing ladies walking boots which are comfy, waterproof, supportive, solid and have a really good sole. Qualities, which are vital for family walks - I'm sure you'll relate to our family walks requiring a good solid pair of shoes as ours usually involve being pulled though mud or being chases by the kids across muddy banks.
I have to admit, I did choose the Tensing walking boots because of these qualities, but also just how supportive and comfy they felt. Plus, after some rubbish walking non-waterproof walking boots when I was a teenager (chosen on looks, not practicality), I learnt my lesson! However, these definitely look good as well as being waterproof, I'm sure you agree?
Tensing ladies walking boots...
I tried various pairs of walking boots on in our local Gloucester Quays Trespass store first just to be sure of my size because I'm clueless as to my actual size. It appears in general I'm now a 6.5 or 7, weirdly since having kids my feet have got bigger! It's always best to air bigger with walking boots and I had assumed I'd need a 7 anyway. Now having received the boots, the Tensing walking boots fitted perfectly and are well suited to family walks.
The Tensing walking boots are waterproof and breathable, plus they are windproof with a Hydroguard® membrane. I'd definitely agree with these claims, so far I've had no wet feet despite chasing the girls through deep puddles. My feet are lovely and comfy, no rubbing and don't feel hot, or cold. To be honest they're just right.
They are nicely supportive and cushioned walking boots so my feet and ankles feel well protected while chasing the kids up and down hills and gullies and across fields.
The Tensing boots have Vibram soles which allow for greater traction on hard to walk grounds, perfect for hiking and outdoor activities. I'd absolutely agree I feel very safe chasing the kids wearing these boots and also while carrying B when she gets tired.
Having grown up in Scotland heading to the hills walking most weekends, we always keep walking boots and waterproofs in the car, and having been stranded in snow before and having to abandon the car this is absolutely something I still do. It seems even more vital now to have a good waterproof and boots in the car at all times as the weather usually has a knack of changing at pick up time. Sunny all day, and come 3pm it's bucketing down and the roads around school are quickly waterlogged and drains flooding.
Tensing walking boots - Verdict
The ladies Tensing walking boots from Trespass are a great pair of walking boots, waterproof, comfy, supportive, solid and with good grips. They are great for the wet school run and also for hiking up and down the hills around the Cotswolds, and of course on our family walks and local days out to attractions and farm parks like Cotswold Farm Park and Cattle Country.
