Trendy Technology

What if an event could be designed to provide a totally personalized experience for each attendee, so that everyone’s personal preferences were met? To anyone who has planned an event, this probably sounds too good to be true. However, an old technology called RFID, which stands for Radio Frequency Identification, is being introduced into the world of events and used for a new purpose.

RFID chips, tiny storage devices for this technology, are capable of storing large amounts of information. When these chips are embedded in an event credential or wristband, for example, they help create a personalized event experience for the attendee. When someone walks by a display and their favorite color appears or they pass a video screen and a video relating to their favorite hobby begins to play, the event becomes an infinitely more enjoyable experience. Each chip is about the size of a grain of rice – pretty tiny to contain all that valuable information!

This new technology seems like it could revolutionize certain aspects of event planning and we can’t wait to see what happens!
