Tree Following June 2024 - a Celebration and a Lament

By Ozhene @papaver

Let us start with happy, let us start with a celebration of Quince Minor who is having his best.year.ever.

Quince Minor is bedecked with quincelets.

Bedecked! Too many to count, well ok that is pushing it a bit far, but too many for me to be bothered to count which amounts to the same thing.

Lovely little brown fuzzy furry quincelings that you can gently (very gently) touch and they do not fall off. This is very promising. I do not expect them all to reach adulthood, but I will take this as a win.

Hurrah.

But I also mentioned a lament.

Dear Reader, I pruned Quince Major heavily this Winter and thought there might be consequences. I was pleasantly surprised in April that Quince Major had a goodly amount of blossom. In May there were plenty of quincelets, all looked good.

Sigh.

Time, of course, will tell.

Take care and be kind.
