Tree Following April 2021 - Press Pause

By Ozhene @papaver

April finds the Quince Brothers leafing up well and seriously considering blossoming. My message to the brothers is 'press pause and wait a moment.'

Quince Major is now what I would call a fine looking tree. The trunk is now several inches in diameter making a young, but not a very young tree.

He is covered in fat plump blossom buds.

Absolutely covered in them. It is usually around this time of year that I have a little worry that the amazing chartreuse foliage maybe a little too pale. It always turns out fine so this year I shall admire the colour and move on.

Quince Minor is a few years younger and has trunk of around about 1 or 2 inches in diameter, so is still in the 'very young' category. Despite this Minor produced his first quince last year so I have high hopes this year.

I don't think I have ever seen so many buds on Minor, he really is looking great this year.

Stay safe and be kind.
