Two Ways to Transfer eSIM to iPhone
Apple iPhone users don’t have to do much to transfer their existing eSIM from one iPhone to another. Therefore, you can easily transfer the eSIM profile from your old iPhone to the new one.
The two ways are eSIM quick transfer or QR code scan. You can select any one as per your convenience. Both the methods are described below. Also, keep in mind that some things are necessary for this.
Requirements to transfer eSIM profile
- eSIM can be transferred to iPhone XS, iPhone XS MAX, iPhone XR and above.
- Must be a wireless service provider or international service operator that supports eSIM.
- You must have a Wi-Fi network connected to your new iPhone.
eSIM Quick Transfer
With eSIM Quick Transfer, you can transfer your eSIM to a new iPhone without ever contacting your carrier. Keep in mind that for this method both your iPhones should be running on iOS 16.
- To transfer eSIM quick, first of all click on the Settings option on your new iPhone.
- Then select Mobile Data and Cellular option. After this click on Add eSIM option.
- Now select cellular plan to transfer from other iPhone.
- If you do not see any list of numbers, then the option Transfer From Nearby iPhone and QR code will be available.
- If you select the Transfer From Nearby iPhone option, a verification code will appear on the old phone. Enter this code in the space provided on the new phone.
- Now wait for the cellular plan to be activated in the new iPhone.
- After this, click on Finish Setting Up Your Carrier’s Cellular Plan coming in the new iPhone.
- You will be redirected to your carrier’s website to transfer your eSIM.
QR code
If you select the QR code option, you will need to contact your telecom provider. A QR code has to be requested for e-SIM transfer. After this you will get Cellular Plan Detected notification on iPhone.
After you scan the code with the help of the camera, tap on it. After adding your data plan, click on the Continue button at the bottom of the screen. Then follow the on-screen instructions to complete the transfer.
