Traditional Yum Cha Revived at K3 JW Marriott New Delhi Aerocity

By Maneesh Srivastva @urbanescapades
Yum Cha describes the traditional Cantonese practice of eating steamed and fried dim sum while drinking copious amounts of tea. The term Yum Cha literally means ‘drink tea’, and it was this practice of sipping tea while sharing petite handmade delicacies with family and friends that began the Yum Cha revolution. The tradition of Yum Cha has been practiced for centuries, originating in Chinese teahouses along the Silk Road to refresh weary travellers, farmers and labourers who would get exhausted after long hours of working in the fields and head to the local teahouse for an afternoon of tea and relaxing conversation.
This March, K3 at the JW Marriott New Delhi Aerocity celebrates this age old tradition over lunch & afternoon tea. The menu includes steamed dim sums, fried dim sums and sweet buns with enough options for vegetarian and non-vegetarian diners.
Time: 12:30 pm – 7:00 pm
Price: The Yum Cha menu has two price options:
INR 1099 plus taxes (soup, assorted dim sums and tea)
INR 1599 plus taxes (soup, assorted dim sums and unlimited beer)
