Although they probably wouldn't appreciate being compared to other people, this superb new track from Tied To The Mast reminds me of Placebo back when they were at their very best, combined with a dose of Sonic Youth-esque alt-rock, yet this group are as unique as indie rock bands get. Melissa is the first single from the Sussex-based five piece, and will feature on their new album 'Some Strange Chemistry. The album, released on the brand new Brighton label Professor Records, was predominantly recorded and produced by the band's guitarist Rhys Stubbs, but also includes one track 'Don't Wait Up For Me' which was produced by legendary producer Stephen Street (Blur, The Smiths). Having three different singers and lyricists in the band, TTTM have a unique and dynamic approach to song writing - Incorporating transatlantic influences of The Desert Sessions, PJ Harvey, Dinosaur Jr. and Beck.
