Tourism courses and universities in India have gained enormous popularity due to people's great passion for traveling and exploring. The tourism industry is huge and quite diversified in operations. It includes government tourism departments, immigration services, travel agencies and tour operators, reservations and services of airlines and railways, etc.

A course in Travel and Tourism can be pursued at all levels of education, whether it be undergraduate, post graduate, diploma or certificate courses. Eligibility for the degree course is 12th step. For the postgraduate level, it is the degree in any field and admission is usually based on the entrance exam, group discussion and interview. Most tourist institutes seek at least a knowledge of a foreign language in candidates.

It offers a 2-year course at the PG - Master of Tourism Administration level.

The Institute was founded in 1997, is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the government of Punjab. He is affiliated with the Punjab technical university in Jalandhar. Offers B. Sc. Airlines, tourism and hospitality management, the eligibility criteria for being a pass in class XII. It is a 3-year course and admission is made to the entrance exam conducted by the Technical University of Punjab.

The institute has branches in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad. It works in close collaboration with the tourism industry. At UG level it offers a 1 year course in Diploma integrated in Travel and Tourism. At the PG level, for graduates, it offers a post-graduate diploma in travel and tourism management.

Offers a 2-year program in the Master of Tourism Administration (MTA). The eligibility requirement is the degree or post graduate with a minimum score of 50% .h 50% in total. Admission is based on a written test.

Offers - Master of Tourism Administration (MTA), 2-year course, which requires a degree with at least 50%, admission based on a written test. E Postgraduate Diploma in Tourism and Hotel Management, a 1 year program, only graduates can apply, admission based on an admission test.

It offers 7 travel and tourism courses at PG level. The eligibility criteria are graduates in any discipline. The programs are -
- Basic course of management of air and maritime transport services
- Basic course in air travel, fares and ticket management
- Basic course in computerized reservation system
- Basic course on the travel agency of the airlines and on the management of tourist operations
- Diploma in Tourism Management (DTM) - The admission test is also conducted for admission
- Diploma in Travel and Tourism Management
- Language training course

The College of Vocational Studies, University of Delhi, offers an integrated three-year degree course in Tourism.
