Torture Chambers & Memory Loss: Sookie’s Men Reveal

True Blood’s Season 4 premiere set the tone for another exciting season following our friends in Bon Temps. At the star-studded premiere stars were reluctant to reveal answers to our burning questions but did reveal a few golden nuggets we can share with you today!

New bachelor Bill Compton has plenty to keep him busy this season. Stephen Moyer says Bill is no longer sitting around waiting for Sookie:

“Bachelorhood kind of turns out all right for Bill. I think he decided to enjoy it while he can. A lot of responsibility smoothing over the Russell Edgington nightmare. He’s trying to make vampires attractive to humans again, by sort of doing press, without giving too much away.”

When it comes to matters of the heart viewers are not surprised to find out he has not given up on Sookie.

“He makes the decision that if you’re going to love somebody, set them free, and the only way to allow that there might possibly be some rekindling down the line is to let her be the person that she needs to be without making her feel like he’s watching her every move.”

Well Bill that plan certainly didn’t start off right as he told Sookie in Episode 1 that he will continue to protect her even if she doesn’t want him in her life.

That’s not all Bill has up his sleeve. Clearly something curious is going on at Bill’s house with rumours of a torture chamber being installed. Moyer insists this isn’t the case “It’s not a torture chamber.” So just what is planned for the basement? We know it’s not a washroom!

Team Eric faces a setback when a witch induces memory loss. Will this cause his feelings towards Sookie to change? Will he even remember her? Apparently this life changing event will result in Eric becoming a new person. According to Alexander Skarsgard:

“He’s definitely more vulnerable. He doesn’t know who he is anymore so he’s very naïve. The old Eric is gone.”

Fan favourite and trubie newbie werewolf Alcidereturns to the screen in episode three and according to actor Joe Manganiello it is not all smooth sailing for Alcide.

“Alcide’s situation is a lot more complicated romantically.  I don’t think he’s had a change of heart so much as much as he wished things could be a little different. There’s some certain substantial things that the fans will find out in those first few episodes. Had [Sookie] responded differently, I think he would have built that house for her.”

According to Manganiello, Alcide begins to rely on Sookie and that will impact their relationship.

“Alcide is a recluse. He just wants to be left alone. He hates being a werewolf. He hates that he was cursed – he sees it as a curse. The great thing about Sookie is she drags him out on all these adventures. This little thing drags him out of the house. Really, I think she’s the key to unlocking that reluctant hero inside of him and I think he recognizes that’s a good thing.”

What about Sookie? While the rest of Bon Temps has moved on she struggles with her broken heart and realizes the tables have turned. How will her relationship with Eric change? Will Bill be able keep his distance from Sookie?  Just how close will Sookie and Alcide get?  Be sure to tune in Sunday’s at 9:00pm on HBO to keep up with True Blood Season 4.
