This is our selection of the top 5 WTF moments of episode 5.07 – In The Beginning.

What were your best WTF moments? Post about it in the comments.

In order of appearance:

Salome dug up Russell

Aside from Nora she was the only logical choice. Her reason for doing it is what shocked me. I believed that Salome was for mainstreaming and I think Roman did too. Bringing Russell there for the sole purpose of killing Roman was a total WTF moment.

Russell is a believer of Lilith

That can’t mean anything good. Russell jumping on the Lilith bandwagon can only mean one thing. Roman’s belief of what Lilith and what the vampire bible stood for was wrong. Humans are vampire food not their equal. I guess that means that the mainstreaming movement is dead.

Vampires in a euphoric state after drinking Lilith’s blood

It was strange to see Eric, Bill, Nora, Salome, Steve and the rest of the authority walking down Bourbon Street acting like they were high. Season 4 showed us that faerie blood makes vampires drunk. What is it about Lilith’s blood that makes them euphoric? Her blood must have some sort of magical powers that are much stronger than faerie’s. I hope the effects wear off quickly, out of control vampires are a very bad thing.

Jesus grandfather is killed

After tying up Lafayette and sewing his lips together, Jesus’ grandfather attempts to take back the demon. Before Jesus’ grandfather can kill Lafayette his pregnant wife stabs him repeatedly.  I was totally shocked when that happened. I was relieved to see her cut away the strings holding Lafayette’s lips. I hope she lets him go. Poor Lafayette is having a really rough year.

Hoyt joins a hate group

In episode 6 Hoyt was “saved” by the group of men going around killing supes. Now it seems he has joined them. After giving him a beer and pleading their case the murders try to recruit Hoyt. Being rejected by Jessica again Hoyt seems to be spiraling out of control. He is acting like a man that has given up on life. Someone so full of anger could easily be persuaded to do something rash. It makes me sad to think that the sweet lovable Hoyt is gone. I really hope he doesn’t go through with it.
