Top 5 Tips for Packing Light on Holiday

Best tips for holiday packing

I don’t know about you but every time it comes to pulling out that suitcase,  my whole wardrobe wants to jump in!

It seemed as if I really needed a pair of jeans for each day or that extra top.  Thankfully, I’ve changed and now have one of the sleekest, slimmest suitcases around.  So whether it’s a city break or a beach holiday, these tips will help you make that packing pile smaller.

1. Choose a color scheme

Pick a color for your trip and stick with it.  This way you can mix and match outfits without having to bring endless amounts of clothes.  Throw a couple of statement pieces in, or better still, accessorise.

2. Make a plan

Think about what you are doing and think about what you want to wear. If you are hiking all day you likely won’t use that sparkly dress, you’ll be too busy soaking in the bath!

4. Roll up!

Don’t fold your clothes, roll ’em.  Rolling helps fit the clothing into a smaller space and can help minimise wrinkles (in the clothes, not the eyes, unfortunately!)

5. Lay it out

Lay out everything you want to take. T-shirts, shorts etc and then take away half. You really don’t need them all. If you are going away for two weeks, take enough for a week and then do some laundry.

Save your space for holiday memories, not smelly socks!
