Top 5 Fragrances For Summer 2013

By Cleverbuttons @cleverbuttons

I love it when the summer finally appears as it gives me a chance to renegotiate my perfume collection. I don’t know why, but when the summer comes I will traditionally change from musky tones to being completely fresh and fruity – I am currently obsessed with any perfume that make use of notes of lemon.

My issue is that i find it very difficult to keep up to date with the latest perfume releases and because of this some may think my choices are a little out of date – but when you find a good perfume why not replicate this year after year?

Here are my 5 top summer fragrances for this year.

DKNY – Be Delicious

I know this has been out for a few seasons, but it is a classic and like all good perfumes should be celebrated. This is one of my favorite scents for freshness – the apple is gorgeous and makes this a go to choice for the office as it is inoffensive. There is also the delicate floral tones which tone down the overall sweetness – I love it! I also love the fact that the 100ml is available at Boutique perfume shop Purely Perfume - it will last twice as long!

Juicy Couture – Couture Couture

This is one of my go to citrus fragrances. It is light, but I would definitely go for the Eau De Parfum purely because it is so light and I like might perfume to last a long time. this is a great scent for a summer party or outdoors event as it reminds me of orchards in the summer heat – beautiful.

Emporio Armani – Diamonds

In the winter I always head for Black Diamonds, but in the summer it has to be the 2007 classic Diamonds with it’s exotic tones of Litchi, it makes me want to be sat in the sun with a cocktail. Firstly I loved the advert with beyonce when it was originally released and secondly it is a staple for nights out. Long lasting, this is an overpowering scent so you have to be slightly liberal, but it is worth every penny!

Calvin Klein – Euphoria

I first bought this perfume when I went to uni, maybe around 2002 and I have loved it ever since. Perfumes always bring back memories and this one reminds me of warm summer nights garden parties and clubbing – I did study sometimes I promise. This is another exotic smelling scent, very fruity with musky undertones so it is slightly more full bodied than some on this list. A great everyday all rounder in my book!

Jimmy Choo – Jimmy Choo (aptly named)

This is probably the most modern perfume on this list and I haven’t had my bottle all that long but it is simply divine. The citrus is great and you know by now that I absolutely love it, but what I love most is the hints of toffee underneath. It is sexy, sophisticated and as I like to call it – a grown up scent! Love it!!!
