Top 5 Eddie Murphy Roles

By Newguy

Eddie Murphy was one of the ‘it’ names in Hollywood during the 80s with some of the most iconic roles but after the noughties hit his choices seemed to become questionable. I am going to look at my favorite roles on Eddie’s career.

5. Slide – Tower Heist (2011)

In what was the best of his recent performances Eddie plays a thief who helps a group of people take back the money they have been tricked out of by a wealthy business man.

4. Doctor John Dolittle – Doctor Dolittle (1998)

When a Doctor learns he can understand animals while everyone else thinks he is going mad. This was one of my favorite films of my childhood and Murphy gives a great performance in it.

3. Billy Ray Valentine – Trading Places (1983)

Eddie plays a wily street con artist ends up living the life of a millionaire after a snobbish investor makes a bet.

2. Axel Foley – Beverly Hills Cop (1984)

As a freewheeling Detroit cop pursuing a murder investigation finds he is dealing with the very different culture of Beverly Hills.

 1.   Donkey – Shrek (2001)

In what is one of the funniest voice over characters in film history Eddie provides the voice perfectly with his excitement tone.
