Cloud Computing Trends to Watch Out for in 2018

Cloud computing offers numerous benefits viz. in-built security, easy to deploy models, remote access, cost-efficiency, reliable management, support and delivery services, simplified IT maintenance & management etc. Simply put, cloud computing helps companies and developers to improve and innovate themselves quickly and with minimal expenditure. Hence, it is extremely secure in comparison to the on-premise model and certainly one of the best ways to operate a business.

Below are the top 3 Cloud Computing trends to watch out for in 2018:

Internet of Everything Will Take Center stage: While, 2017 was all about artificial intelligence and IoT (Internet of Things), 2018 will see businesses embracing the Internet of Everything (IoE), as cloud computing and data analytics in real time continues to grow and develop further. As IoE is largely dependent on data processes, communication between two different machines and the manner in which human beings communicate with their own environment, it would only result in increased intelligent interactions with the devices. This would further enable individuals in enjoying rich communications with each other. For instance, Pixel Buds from Google, which is essentially an ear piece that is capable of recognizing and translating as many as forty different languages (in real-time) will further encourage students and tourists to use the accessory more often.

Increased Demand for Cloud Storage Containers: Given that more and more organizations are relying on cloud services to run their businesses, there will be an increased demand for cloud data storage next year. Needless to mention, cloud storage has helped businesses in enjoying efficient and flexible operations. Right from the system’s flexibility to the fact that enterprises have the option of paying only for the storage space being utilized by them, has further led to an increased demand for cloud storage containers.

Growth of cloud services and solutions: With an increasing number of enterprises taking to cloud computing, it wouldn’t be surprising to see a further growth in the cloud solutions and services. According to a Cisco survey, the SaaS (Software as Service) solution will be widely deployed within enterprises around the globe. On the other hand, a KPMG report states that PaaS(Platform as a Service) will grow from thirty two percent in 2017 to fifty six percent in 2020. Similarly, the IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) solution will reach $17.5 billion mark in 2018.
