Top 2016 Pantone Colors for Fall Weddings

By Thedreamery

Considering I can’t prevent summer from leaving us, and the season from changing here on the East Coast, I have to find some prettiness to inspire and keep me happy this Fall. Well thankfully, Pantone released their fashion color report for Fall 2016, and I’m loving their rich yet calming color choices, especially for weddings and parties! The change of season means the beginning of another busy wedding season, with Fall being popular amongst chilly weather loving couples. This year’s colors evoke a “desire for tranquility, strength, and optimism” with its main inspiration stemming from beautiful blues. The selection of hues are earthy with a few vibrantly standing out. Pantone’s 2016 selections, follow Spring’s choices by transcending gender and being playful. These are definitely not your quintessential fall shades, these colors are vivacious making any autumn affair stand out beautifully. They don’t scream Fall and I think that’s why I’m loving these color palettes so much.

Although approaching fall weddings have most likely chosen their wedding colors already, for late November weddings, these colors will be the perfect inspiration for your big day if you’re still needing the perfect unique touch. I love that these colors work so well with each other, as well as lighter winter and even festive spring shades. They are definitely unique and the loveliest way to celebrate the colors of Fall.

Get inspired by my favorite fall colors for weddings below…

Blues : Riverside + Airy Blue

The prominent blues in this fall’s collection, lends itself to our current world’s turbulence, by giving the lights airy sense of a blue sky and white clouds which are meant to lift our moods. These shades are undeniably sophisticated, strong, cool, calming, and a nod to Serenity. And they pair so perfectly with deep earth tones, like fellow 2016 fall choices Spicy Mustard, Potter’s Clay, and Dusty Cedar.

Sharskin

Sharskin is part of the “it” neutral gang of greys. We’ve seen how these colors are beautiful used just about any way from home, fashion and paired with other colors for any style wedding. This ethereal color with an edge manages to still be neutral, making it one of my favorite choices no matter the season. It sure stands out and looks gorgeous against any palette from bright to muted.

Warm Taupe

Warm Taupe is another rich yet neutral color, and just like Sharskin pairs really well with all the shades in Pantone’s selection this season. It really is a timeless color that evokes an organic feel, almost cozy like. It couldn’t feel anymore like autumn, and I’m thinking it should be the foundation for all fall color palettes.

Berry Reds : Bodacious,  Dusty Cedar + Aurora Red

Bodacious is not only the brightest shade of the bunch, it basically describes all the berry and red hues within the collection. It’s unexpected, but with this season’s palette tending to be neutral and sometimes lackluster, Bodacious adds that splash of life, fall and winter weddings need. I’d have to say Dusty Cedar is the fall version of Rose Quartz color palette, and it’s a nod to a deep rich mauve. It happens to be the color of my favorite fall nail color, and I’m so happy that this beautiful, complex color is becoming popular. Doesn’t it just make you feel warm? Reds and oranges are undeniable autumn colors, and Aurora Red takes this basic color to an exciting and sophisticated level.

Potter’s Clay

Oh, this color just exudes sophistication doesn’t it?! When I pinpoint the things that I do enjoy about autumn, my mind drifts off to gorgeous leaves on trees in colors you can’t quite pinpoint. Potter’s Clay is in my opinion THE perfect fall shade, along with fiesty Spicy Mustard, and they look just lovely together. It’s strong, yet neutral, and oozes confidence and comfort. It really is a beautiful shade for a classic and traditional or whimsical weddings, and just the prettiest pop of autumn color at a mostly white affair.

Lush Meadow

I’d have to say the richest color choice of them all, would have to be the most unexpected as well. Lush Meadow, a deep and regal emerald green is making a big statement this fall. The color is reminiscent of beautiful and lush foliage and greenery, which contradicts with typical fall shades, making it a statement color to inspire your wedding this season. It’s a boho-nature lover’s dream, and paired with Warm Taupe and whites, easily transitions into winter.
