Top 10 Sneakers Curated by Monsieur and Moi

Posted on the 30 April 2014 by Manofmany @manofmanytastes

This is a Guest Post from Monsieur and Moi.

The sneaker game has kicked off in Australia over the past 2 years as many young males are moving from the more traditional skate shoe to sportier, and chunkier designs. In the fitness market, Nike are still dominating the scene with the Free run and Roche run. In the street style scene Asics, Nike, Reebox and New Balance sneakers are slowly integrating into everyday wear. Much of our street style is influenced by Britain, and this influence is usually funnelled into Melbourne, where new trends flourish and spread. At least there is where the sneaker trend has kicked off anyways. So when Man of Many asked us to make a pick of our favorite sneakers we happily obliged. Here are our top 10 sneakers. Enjoy.

Ronnie Fieg x Clarks 2014 Kildare Pack

The Ronnie Fieg and Clarks collaboration is a little out of the blue, but something special! Combining premium Nubuck with a pigskin toe and leather lining, going from gym to the street is easy.

New Balance – MRT580AD

#3

This would have to be one of my favorite sneakers out there. I know it is a little boring. But I love the navy blue colour, and the typical New Balance design has an extremely retro aura about it.

A chunky design, and a retro color scheme, give these knew Asics gels an individual look. Wear these to the gym, or as casual streetwear.

Nike – WMNS Roshe run Woven 2.0

#5

After Nike’s first woven Roshe run was a bit of a disaster, this 2.0 model is something a little more acceptable. The open design will certainly keep you cool, particularly for summer, however don’t be surprised if they turn a few heads.

This one of a kind collaboration with Converse and Maison Martin Margiela features the Chuck Taylor All Star and Jack Purcell sneakers. Each shoe is hand-painted in Maison Martin’s iconic white paint. Covering the whole shoe, they naturally crack to reveal the original colours beneath. 10 Cool points to Converse.
