Mini Cheddars are great and all, but what about those other cheeses? I know cheddar is a classic, a nice mellow cheese that can be the base for many foods, but it's nice to have something different from time to time. Well, Jacob's have brought out three new varieties of Mini Cheddars, each based on a different cheese. There's applewood, red Leicester, and this stilton flavor. I'm a big fan of the blue cheese, so I snatched these up as soon as I found them.
Stilton has a pretty bold and identifiable taste, and it's pretty well replicated here. A pretty creamy and intense flavor that contains some great hints of blue cheese, and that works very well with the crisps. It fades a little over time and goes back to a more generic cheese, but that initial hit is really good, and this is a variety of Mini Cheddars I'm sure I'll be getting more of in the future.
