A dream to go where I HAVE NEVER GONE BEFORE.
Well,I have not gone too many places yet...I want to,but responsibilities beckon.I am probably waiting more than sweet child for school to get over...then I will be a free bird. Send him off to college and let hubby dear trudge his briefcase and notepad to office and I will flit and float and fleetly flee I'll fly...I'll travel -alone if possible,if not, then with like minded girl friends-I want to do that at least once.Uncomplicated, free and fun.I know.It seems like a pipe dream, but then whats life without a petty dream?Maybe these dreams will go on to huge and concrete one day.I would like to try the Ian Wright way with my back pack and 2 pairs of denims and a camera, huger than huge for a few weeks.(I assure you,I'll be loaded with my sun screen,my biotique Kohl , body shop lip balm and Nina Ricci Perfume and traveling iron...don't want to be a scruffy Ian Wright wannabe.)First on...disappear to the ancient land of Egypt.I am not an extravagant woman at most times, but I am a woman...adore the luxury of world class travel. And when it is so cheap..Hallelujah!
Since I'll be traveling alone,I need a place decent enough to hang my boots. Hotels have awesome breakfast spreads, and I as a food blogger how can I not eat out???So street food it is. So I save money on food and use local transport -read buses for travel.Safe!
First on,the White Desert.

After reading all those books on the ancient scrolls and Cairo and the Pyramids and the role in the old testament,I am loathe to discover the ancient part of the city. A day trip to Luxor by bus to discover the secrets of the pyramids and say the customary hello to Monsieur Le Sphinx...I don't want to be carrying away the spirits back home-we have enough here with our tonas and totkas.Sunset and the camera, a perfect date.

I will need a couple of days to wander and lose myself in the souks in Cairo, taste the mint and cardamom tea and eat as much mutton kebabs as I want. Remember, I'm footing it all out , so the denims have no way of becoming tighter. I have a few papyrus paintings and scrolls that I was gifted, but I would like to buy my own. And blue glass and stuff. My favorite buy anywhere is scarfs and earrings, the jinglier the better. Also a tagine, that I may not find and some ancient vessel as a conversation starter for my living room. Some history again...Google images

Back to Cairo, I would now book into a pension or an inn...and visit the Egyptian Museum to acquaint myself with Tutankhamen and the other Pharaohs. Tin Tin and his travails will stand by me here, and wasn't there enough stuff in the Mummy series? But that was all eerie.I'll consult Sky scanner again and spend most of my money now on entry tickets.
I'd like to do Abydos ,slightly south of Cairo, thats where the temple of the Seti and Osiris are...But the budgets are limited. As they say ,I'll loose myself here some other day.Next time ,I'll visit with hubby dear. There has to be a fresh dream.
Dreams are what keep us alive. And contests like these keep our dreams soaring high.Thank you Blogadda.
