TMS That’s My Story by Vinay Mashalkar is a light read having serious twists in the story at various points. The story goes naturally and most of the time you will be able to predict what is going to happen next. But then there are instances where you will be convinced that writing a story in such a simple manner and still creating a lot of magical moments at various touchpoints in the story speaks a lot about the maturity of the author. This is one of those books that I have read that are simple to read but presented in such a natural manner that you get connected to the story, characters, and the author while reading, when and how it happens, probably you will never able to identify.

When I started the story of TMS That’s My Story by Vinay Mashalkar, I thought it is written by one of those enthusiastic authors of younger generation who have less depth and maturity, but are impatient enough to write. Secondly I didn’t imagine it will have so much seriousness written in such a natural way that it will touch your heart in many instances. By the time you reach the middle of the book, you will also realize that everything is flowing from the heart of the author, and we all know talk/ writing/ deeds emerging out of the heart are more natural, emotional and near to truth.
The story of TMS That’s My Story by Vinay Mashalkar is of a young boy Vikram who is just out of college, joining his first job in Bangalore that is far from his hometown. For the first time he is staying away from his parents, in a city where he knows nobody. Vikram is a youth having a good amount of integrity and seriousness in life. He has good moral values to treat love with respect and has a good character. Vikram is a software developer gradually carving his path to be a team leader in a couple of years. During his professional journey, he makes few friends, real good friends, and also falls in love with a girl Meghna.
There are a lot of interesting points in TMS That’s My Story by Vinay Mashalkar about how Vikram convinces Meghna about his true feelings for her, how Meghna gradually gets convinced and falls in love with him with equal intensity, how Vikram becomes Meghna’s Nutty and how Meghna becomes Vikram’s Mito. There is a philosophy behind these two derived names. Also, there are some touching moments. One such moment is when Vikram goes to meet his parents with a mission of telling them about Meghna with a perception of how they will react and everything goes opposite to what he had thought of. And then there are certain more characters in the story. Aditi is there as a new entrant in the story to bring in certain twists along with her.
Overall an interesting story straight coming from the heart and bound to touch your heart though initially when you start reading it, you might not anticipate it during the first few pages. But gradually the story of TMS That’s My Story by Vinay Mashalkar goes quite strong, crisp and striking.
