The U.S.-based watchmaker claims to be “going bananas” in collaboration with community members by offering NFT-themed watches only to Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) and Mutant Ape Yacht Club (MAYC) members. There are 500 personalized timepieces and digital twin NFTs available, each bearing the NFT of the holder.
The brands of Yuga Labs have allowed the company to provide more unique things for cooperation with initial holders.
Tiffany & Co. unveiled “NFTiffs” this summer, which are exclusive digital tickets for cryptopunk holders that can be exchanged for a personalized pendant of jewels and diamonds inspired by their NFTs. Despite costing 30 ETH (about 50,000 USD at the time), all 250 NFT permits were sold out within 20 minutes.
This year, Alexandre Arnault, vice president of Tiffany and holder of Cryptopunk number 3167, designed a pendant inspired by the NFT.
It is not just firms. BAYC and other Era Labs NFTs holders have used the photos into their projects, ranging from restaurants to television productions, because they have the IP rights to utilize them commercially. Others have licensed their ape photographs for use in advertising campaigns and merchandise. Among the most peculiar partnerships are CBD-infused massage candles and body mousse.
The project was advised by Josh Ong, Cryptowondoom, The Miami App, Logic, BaronVonHustle, and Zeneca, among others.
The Timex pieces will be available for pre-order at a special Art Basel event on December 2. The Timepiece Forger Pass NFT will be sold online for 2 ETH (currently $2,575) two days later. Beginning in mid-December, holders can order their watches online, and the products will delivery in the second quarter of 2023.
