Drone/experimental artist Tim Hecker will release Virgins on October 14th through Kranky records. ”Virginal II” leads in with a distorted piano loop that continues as the basis of the song through many upheavals and transformations. It’s like a showcase of all the sides of Tim Hecker in one track, there’s the jaw-dropping beauty of the middle section, the horror movie soundtrack ambience, and the all-out drone/noise outro. It bears some resemblance to his last album, 2011′s Ravedeath 1972 but a little more spiky.
