Three suspects who robbed cash, jewelry and other items worth over Rs.1.5 million after tying the hands and legs of a sister and her younger brother in a house at Minuwangoda was arrested by the police with the cash and items stolen within five hours after the robbery.
Thieves had robbed 15,000 in cash, gold items, two computers, an iPad and four mobile phones.Police had tracked the thieves using the GPS technology in the mobile phones they had stolen.
Police had been able to track the route of the thieves who were traveling in a trishaw. Police say that the three suspects were arrested while traveling in the trishaw in Mahabage.
Police say that a person who once worked in that house planned the robbery and he is a resident of Ragama area.The other two suspects are residents of Seeduwa and Ja-Ela area and the police said the two suspects are addicted to heroin.
