The vice-president of Jamia Banoria Mufti Abdul Majeed Deenpuri, Mufti Muhammad Saleh and Hassan Ali Shah car were killed when unknown motorcyclists opened fire on their high-roof on Shahrah-e-Faisal.
Tension prevailed in the different areas of metropolis following the killing the of religious scholars and unknown men shut down the shops and businesses.
Earlier, the police had recovered six bodies dumped in gunny bags from different areas of the city.
According to police, two bodies bearing bullet wounds were found from Sarjani Northern bypass. The bodies were identified as Haroon and Syed Raza.
Three gunny-bagged bodies were found from Qaimkhani Colony of Baldia Town, who were kidnapped, tortured and then killed. They were identified as Irfan, Ajmad and Jamal. Another body was found near Timber Market.
Amid fresh wave of violence in the city, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah called on Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan at the Governor House and discussed prevailing political situation in the province.
The Chief Minister and Governor also took notice of the recent incidents of terrorism in the city and directed the law enforcement agencies to strict take action against those responsible.
