This last project was a live brief set by Diane Harrison, a textile company who primarily design textiles for interiors such as bedding, but also apparel.
We were given five themes, of which I chose Urban. I have ALWAYS avoided any association with Urban because I prefer to work so much more fluidly.
To my utter surprise, I actually won the weeks placement at the Diane Harrison studio in Manchester. Although at first glance, you may not see Urban in my designs, it came from many design ideas where I based it on the reflections you see of cities in puddles and the strange shapes you get in city building windows.
