This Girl

The girl who has won all of our hearts: Lupita Nyong'o. I typically find red carpets a major snooze fest but Lupita has added class and interest. Though I liked her Oscar blue Prada number, I LOVED her red Golden Globes. I think she's impeccable. PLUS, did you hear her speech on the topic of beauty? "You can't rely on what you look like to sustain you." Finally! It's more than that!
I find it odd when we pick out an "it" girl, for example Lupita, and like her because of what she looks like or what she wears. In her words, it's not sustainable: it's wishy washy and unfulfilling. I'm glad she's being recognized for something more than how she dresses and how beautiful she is even though she is impeccable. She's smart and thoughtful and soulful. A perfect "This Girl".
