People have always wanted to live longer, and over time, we’ve made progress. Back in the Middle Ages, reaching 40 was considered lucky.
Nowadays, it’s not unusual for people to live to ninety or even a hundred. There’s a person named Li Ching-Yuen who’s said to have lived to be 256 years old, as reported in an old newspaper. Some old documents congratulated him on his 150th and 200th birthdays. People who knew him said he was already grown up when they were children.
Li started working with herbs when he was only 10 years old and mostly ate herbs for about 40 years.
He also drank rice wine and ate things like goji berries and ginseng. When he was 71, he became a martial arts teacher in the Chinese army. He got married 23 times and supposedly had around 200 kids.
But he said he knew someone even older than him, a 500-year-old man who taught him how to live long with exercises and a special diet. When asked how he lived so long, Li said to stay calm, move like certain animals, and sleep well.
Even if you don’t believe his story, his advice sounds pretty wise. We could all learn something from him.…See More
