As of yesterday (September 5), 37 suspects have been arrested by the Colombo Central Division Criminal Investigation Bureau for forcibly entering the President’s House and damaging and stealing its property.
Senior Superintendent of Police in charge of Colombo Central Division Roshan Dias mentioned that 12 of them are the suspects, who were publicized by the Police Media Division through mass media and the rest of the suspects were arrested through investigations.
The photos of 71 people who broke into the President’s House on July 9 were published by the media. Apart from 5 of the suspects who have been arrested so far, all the other suspects have been released on bail.
