MY REVIEW:
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Thirty Days to Win his Wife is a 2015 Harlequin Desire publication. I was provided a copy of this book by the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
This is not the usual friends to lovers story. This one has a little bit of a twist to it, making it hard to know for sure if this couple will make as friends or lovers..
Amelia's trip to Vegas for her ten year High School reunion was a dud. While she is a very successful business woman, she couldn't show off her wedding pictures or adorable photos of her children because she was still unmarried and childless. When her best friend Tyler tries to cheer her up by reminding her of a pact they made ten years ago, and then proposing marriage on the spot, Amelia, filled with self pity and fueled by Tequila accepts. The couple immediately realize they made an awful mistake so as easily as they agreed to marriage, they also agreed to an annulment or divorce. However, a shocking surprise causes them to reconsider. Amelia gives Tyler thirty days to convince her they can fall in love with each other, otherwise they break up the marriage and deal with the fallout the best way they can. So, with the ball in his court, Tyler intends to pull out all the stops But, will it be enough?
I enjoyed this story because it dealt with some issues that many women have difficulties with. We all dream of the fairytale wedding and the perfect marriage. But, sometimes the wedding overshadows the marriage. Sometimes, we find out the hard way that the ideal man and the perfect marriage fantasy can only bring about unhappiness and failure because there is no “great white buffalo” as Tyler so aptly put it. Amelia has always dreamed of the big fancy wedding and has planned for it even though there was no perspective groom in sight. She kept holding out for Mr. Perfect... but well, there is no such thing. However, Tyler may be able to convince her that although he's far from perfect and their relationship as had some pretty rocky moments, true love can see them through.
This story has laughter , sexy and sensual romance, tears, and a very sweet and satisfying conclusion. Overall this one gets 4 stars
