Story: Then Came You starts when lonely widow Annabelle (Gifford) heads to Scotland for the first stage of a world trip. She wants to visit many places around the world with her husband’s ashes to celebrate their love. Annabelle ends up staying with Howard (Ferguson) in his luxury mansion overlooking a lock.
As Annabelle adapts to Scottish life and learns to embrace the culture. The two widows must learn to move on with their lives as they spend more time together. Annabelle sees her first step in the journey as the most important one.
Verdict on Then Came You
Then Came You is a romantic comedy that lets two widows learn the important part of life. They have been happy in the past and losing their loved one doesn’t mean they can’t find happiness again.
The movie is filled with an American learning about Scottish culture, with misunderstanding leading to comedic moments. It plays into this, showing that taking risks in life can bring new happiness. The performances from Craig Ferguson and Kathie Lee Gifford are both great, showing wonderful chemistry as the movie unfolds.
