Theft at JRJ’s House

The Kurunduwatta Police have started an investigation regarding the theft of property worth Rs.448,000 from the house of Sri Lanka’s first Executive President late J.R.Jayewerdene at Ward Place, Colombo 07. According to a complaint by the grandson of the former President, A.H.Jayawardena, the Police say the theft took place between 5.00 p.m. on the 17th and 9.00 am on the 18th. Police say foreign currency worth Rs. 250,000, a laptop computer and some clothes were stolen.
