The Year of Microstates: San Marino

By Gail Aguiar @ImageLegacy

2015 wasn’t slated to be the year of visiting microstates, but that’s the way it’s shaping up thus far. We were in Malta and San Marino last month for our anniversary and my birthday trip, and this week I’m going to Andorra to see Cirque du Soleil (a free show!) and couchsurf with some locals while I learn about this tiny country up close.

These photos were all taken in San Marino, the third-smallest country in Europe after Monaco and Vatican City. It’s only 61 km square, but it’s a very picturesque 61 kilometres as you can see.
