Story: The Wendigo starts when popular social media star Logan (Gene) looks to complete his latest stunt. However, his live stream gets interrupted, and nobody has seen him since. In the aftermath, the internet has a mixed response, with a large number seeing it as part of the stunt.

Meanwhile, Jay (Redfern), TJ (Robinson), Matthew (Margraves), Kaylee (Davis) and Cassi (Rodriguez) join forces to find answers. However, as they head into the forest, they find themselves hearing unexpected noises. They soon find themselves dealing with a battle of life and death.

Verdict on The Wendigo

The Wendigo is a horror thriller following a group of social media stars that go in search of another one who went missing. It follows them as they look for answers about whether this is a stunt or not. However, they find themselves going through the same terrors.

This is a found footage film that gets to poke fun at social media stars determination to find success. However, as things get out of hand it becomes a nightmare. This does fall into the screaming and running around the dark forest. It doesn’t seem to bring anything new to the sub-genre of horror. In fact, it falls lower than expectations. The scares end up feeling flat and the movie fails to capture the intensity and panic of a found footage movie.

Final ThoughtsThe Wendigo is a flat horror, lacking any real scares.
