Two women separated by decades. Both set out to help others find their dreams when their own have crumbled.

I will admit it – I get so excited every single time I see that Rachel Hauck has another book out.  It ranks right up there with having a day off work – my day job, that is. I really think that if there was anyone I could ever point out and say “yes, that woman follows God’s calling for her”, it would be Rachel Hauck. That being said, today’s post is about Rachel Hauck’s latest release, The Wedding ShopThe Wedding Shop is the third book in the “wedding” series, the others being The Wedding Chapel and the other,

The Wedding Shop‘s setting is Heart’s Bend, Tennessee, and this story is about a young woman named Haley Morgan who us home from the Air Force. She decides she will take over the town’s old wedding shop that’s been in the town for over 90 years. The building was run down and in need of many repairs, but Haley had a vision of what it once was. Even though it’s been closed for so many years, Haley has a strong feeling that the place must be reopened.

The storyline of The Wedding Shop goes back and forth between the 1930s through the 1950s and then the present day. While this book could be a “stand alone”, it is my understanding that some of the characters in this book were also included in Rachel’s previous books.

The entire book is awesome. Ms. Hauck draws readers in as she alternates the story  between modern day Haley and past wedding shop owner Cora. Ms. Hauck has the fantastic ability to transport her readers back in time and make them actually feel like they are there. It was great to see the different perspectives of the characters and how their stories develop while moving between the two time periods. The message I received from this book was that we need to trust in God and do His will and he will provide.

Instead of the usual bio, I thought I’d cut and paste something I found on Rachel Hauck’s website where she lists her favorite things. If you want to know more about her or her other books, you can catch her on her website HERE.

I received a complimentary paperback copy of this book from the publisher, and I received a digital copy from NetGalley, both without cost, but in exchange for my opinion.
