You might not know the brand name Mar端shka, but if you lived in the United States in the 1970s or '80s, chances are its imagery is emblazoned in your brain. You may have blankly stared at a Mar端shka silkscreen-on-canvas print while waiting at a doctor's office, in a hospital, or at a corporate headquarters.
Now this iconic, cheap wall art is hip with the shabby-chic set; one Chicago boutique is even repurposing original Mar端shka designs for the spring. Collectors Weekly got an exclusive, inside scoop on where these pictures came from - and why they went away.
