The Trailer For Lifetime’s “A Tale Of Two Coreys” Is Here

Lifetime released the first trailer for their latest low-budget mess of a Corey Haim/Corey Feldman biopic, A Tale of Two Coreys. It has all the hallmarks of a good Lifetime movie: drama, capital-A acting, a cavalcade of terrible hair. Plus the mood is set to the 80s synth of “Sunglasses at Night” by Corey Hart. If you hadn’t already guessed, the mood set is a dark one.

Variety says the film is all about the rise and fall of Corey Haim and Corey Feldman and covers all of the terrible, awful stuff that allegedly happened to them in the 80s and 90s. Corey Feldman was an executive producer on the film, so it’s not really a shock that the movie might tackle Corey Haim’s alleged assault on the set of Lucas. How specific it gets isn’t known. Charlie Sheen’s name doesn’t appear a character on the cast list. I have a feeling that was a deliberate choice on Lifetime’s part to avoid a tiger blood-scented lawsuit when the movie premieres on TV in January.

We’ve also got two actors who appear to have been hired by a casting director on their way into Lasik surgery. Corey Haim and Corey Feldman are played as teens by Justin Ellings and Elijah Marcano, and as adults by Casey Leach and Scott Bosely. It’s definitely a more Whitney than Britney situation, but it’s still pretty busted. Well, busted for a biopic about the two Coreys. For a $1000 remake of The Room set in high school, it’s spot-on.
