Throwback Thursday; 90's trend inspired! There seems to be a strong 90's influence on the high street this season. Enough slogan tees to wear a different theme each day and denim is huge - whether you're doubling up with a jacket and a skirt, or giving mom jeans a go. So with this in mind, I popped along to Cornmill Shopping Centre in Darlington to style up this trend that's perfect if you're heading along to a festival or want something casual to wear for the rest of the summer that will see you through to the bank holiday weekend.
Camo Shacket & Amour Slogan Tee - Topshop / Skirt - New Look / Bag - Stylish / Trainers - Converse (all available at Cornmill Shopping Centre, Darlington)
I didn't think I'd be into a camouflage jacket, or shacket (technically) but paired with this outfit it adds another layer, great for evenings, and looks pretty cool against the balayage curls. I'm fond of wearing green anyway with having green eyes, as the color always makes my eyes pop but now I'm considering wearing the khaki camo a little more often. I think a couple sizes larger with a hoody underneath will look good for the transition into Autumn.
Despite the fact my wardrobe is almost overflowing with them, I wanted to feature another slogan tee. There's something about a white tee tucked in, with some french word emblazoned that just shouts effortlessly cool, right? Denim skirts are making a bit comeback too this season and even though we're into August, I still think it's well worth picking one up if you're thinking about it. I like the darker faded black wash, but mostly because I prefer the contrast of black and white together (then it means I can pop my blue denim jacket over without feeling too much like Britney and Justin Timberlake (you know those photos I'm referring to)
The bag here is a bit of a statement, bright red with the lion embellishment. It's maybe not so much festival appropriate (nor are the white converse given how muddy things usually get) but it's a great size if you're heading back to uni/looking for a new work bag and really adds a pop of color. Stylish have a selection of bags and a pretty good deal if you buy a bag, you can pick up a purse for £5.
