The Sound of Music LIVE! on NBC This Thursday, Featuring Carrie Underwood!

One of my favorite movies of all time is The Sound of Music with Julie Andrews. When I was a girl, I memorized all of the songs, and I can probably recite a lot of the dialogue, too! This movie had everything: beautiful music, gorgeous scenery, adventure and danger, great acting, and more. So, when I heard that they’re doing a new live version of The Sound of Music with Carrie Underwood, who also has an incredible voice like Julie Andrews, I knew I had to add it to my must-watch list!
The live version of The Sound of Music comes from executive producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron (Smash, Hairspray, Chicago) and is based on the original Broadway musical, so I’ll be interested to see how this version differs from the movie since I haven’t seen the play. I do know that many of my favorite songs are included, such as “My Favorite Things,” “Do-Re-Mi,” “Climb Every Mountain,” and “Edelweiss.” I hope you’ll watch the show with your whole family on Thursday.
