Best Episode Watched Yesterday: Black Doves- This show wrapped in perfect fashion, and hinted at the potential for more. I’m really pulling for this show. I think Keira, Ben, and Sarah Lancashire all were excellent.

Runner Up: Laid- I actually really enjoyed the unique premise to this. The pilot is strong, and this show has a future. I’m here for it. As one show ends, another begins.

Best Performance: The Final Two (The Masked Singer)- I mean, we got four songs, sung the hell out of two actual recording artists. I was super impressed. I normally do this for acting, and even though this show doesn’t have audio description, those two final acts could sing their faces off, and very much did in one of the best finales the show has ever had… because sometimes a non-singer slips through. No. Both of these finalists are music acts first and foremost. And it showed.

Runner Up: Sarah Lancashire (Black Doves)- A very subdued performance all season long. I loved her final moments with Keira, and when she lets her own stuffy guard down, it totally worked. I loved when she said “sounds a bit like love to me.” It was like watching The Grinch realize the magic of Christmas. A very nuanced performance, but I love Sarah.

Best Audio Description: Black Doves- One last time. Thanks for the memories. Excellent work.

Runner up: Jurassic World: Chaos Theory- Actually, there was a surprising amount of nuance in this last episode as well. With security cameras, two dinosaurs actually eating someone, and a nice egg swap. I love that they always refer to the dinosaurs by their type. Even when red was following, it was labeled as “Red The Raptor”, so in case you forgot… it’s a raptor.

Best Moment Of Audio Description: Laid (Peacock)- Without spoilers, I’m going to say the moment someone steps out of a car.

Runner Up: Black Doves- The Climax. I’d say there’s this scene, with all the major players in the room, and the reveal happens. There is very much a fallout in and outside of that room, where a lot of people die. And the sequence of who shot who, in that cluster of a moment was really well done.

Worst Episode: Happy’s Place- I’m sorry. I just want so much more from this show.

Worst Performance- The guy on Are You Smarter Than A celebrity who thought the air was predominantly full of nitrogen. Dude. My dude. No. Just… No.

Worst Audio Description- The lack of Audio Description on The Masked Singer on Hulu is always frustrating, because I’d love to know what the costumes look like. I can still guess, which is why I still watch, and I got one of the two finalists correct. (I thought the other was Daveed Diggs because of this crab clue they kept bringing up, and the biggest show for him would have been Hamilton. So, it made sense.
