Literally these five shows I’ve all discussed before, some more than others, but last week I think I mentioned it was my favorite episode of the season so far from Shrinking, and that held. Not taking away from Episode 7, because it certainly builds toward something, the emotional weight of Episode 6 is heavier. Overall, this show has improved for me from last season.

What We Do In The Shadows had a fun episode. Everyone was pretty much on their game, but I did laugh out loud at the exchange between Colin and Guillermo which was so totally unexpected, and thank God, audio described. The award for “Thank God For Audio Description” goes to that scene, which after 6 seasons surprised me, because it was so against Colin’s nature, which is what made it so funny.

Papa’s House is taking my advice, clearly, because we are seeing more little kids. Now, I’m aware that there is a little boy AND a little girl in this family, both really young (giving the series time to grow), and offering that extra layer of parenting I needed coming out of the pilot. It is still a very mid-sitcom, but the ingredients are all here, it’s just how to use those ingredients.

Say Nothing finished, with all the weight of the world on its shoulders. I thought the back half of this series was tremendous, and Lola Pettigrrew deserves an Emmy nomination for sure for playing Dolores. This is the last time I mention this show until talking about awards, so thanks for some great audio description, and I really recommend this show.

Interior Chinatown embraced more of the idea that these characters could all find out they are on a Truman Show type thing, or whatever this is. I’m not sure Episode 5 improved the show, so i won’t say it has hit its peak. If anything, the moments in Episode 4 have more emotional resonance, for a show that heavily is leaning into satire at times.
