TV Shows Watched: English Teacher: S2E5 (Disney plus) with audio description, Wayward: S1E6? (Netflix) with audio description, Lazarus: S1E1 (Amazon) with audio description, Shifting Gears: S2E5? (Disney Plus) with audio description, The Runarounds: S1E8 (Amazon) with audio description
English Teacher- Hilarious. Mom comes for a visit, which leads to everyone having a different reaction, most of them are very positive. I hope FX sticks with this, but I’m afraid they won’t. The audio description was fun, especially when Gwen was sliding around. However… you totally forgot to tell the audience if Gwen had to sit in the backseat. Missed punchline.
Wayward- the teens that rioted are sent into the wilderness to survive. The winner can leave. Will they? Meanwhile, Lyla sits down with the criminally underutilized Toni Collette for a therapy session, and Alex finds out that this town is far more unnerving than previously thought. Also, someone is killed off.
Lazarus- dear Hollywood, I’d like to suggest a myriad of other authors for you to peruse their library. There are still many solid books by John Grisham, Michael Crichton, Nicholas Sparks, Sue Grafton, Clive Cussler, Tom Clancy, james Patterson, and dozens of other authors. With each successive Harlan Cobin adaptation, we keep scraping the barrel. I’m not even sure I want to watch another episode just to help qualify a rotten review. i barely made it through the first. When we got to the therapy session, where the girl just storms in on him, even though he’s trying to tell her something, and he just gives up and sits down anyway… you lost me. that scene never justified itself. You can be mysterious, but you still have to make some semblance of sanity in the process.
Shifting Gears- Time to fight off a raccoon. I’m not sure Carter learned his lesson. But a solid joke here about whether or not Allen’s dad was on the field or a cheerleader. You know, like Michael Jordan. He was a cheerleader.
The Runarounds- It was a season finale, so you’ll now have to wait for the full review. This is how I live now. However, i did watch all eight episodes, and I barely watched one of Lazarus.
