You read that top part correctly, sir. Colin Fro Accounts now has audio description on paramount Plus. Or at least, I can confirm that by the 3rd episode of the 2nd season, audio description has returned. I was frustrated initially about this, because of the success this show has had, and how they don’t need it in their CBS lineup anymore, so it wasn’t naturally getting audio described. But, they brought along the Australian track. The third episode also introduced this brother, who is obnoxious as hell, so I struggled with enjoying the episode, but at least it was being described by an Australian live human being!

Also new, the Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader revival, now with celebrities, has what legally is qualified as audio description, but I didn’t actually find it useful. And in a rare, super rare, turn of events, I actually couldn’t understand what the narrator said. He made sure I could get those credits at the end though, so we could see Roundabout got paid for offering a smidgen of audio description that wasn’t helpful, and was at times unintelligible.

And, come on viTech. Like, I’m tired of talking about your audio description quality. But, this weeks Abbot Elementary was weak. I feel like a better writer would at least get scene changes in there. There was one where Jacob is in his classroom, talking to a kid, and then he’s somewhere else knocking on a door. I thought it was all in his glass room at first because there wasn’t transitional description to indicate otherwise. Little things. And I think there was time for “In the hallway” or something really simple to indicate a new scene had happened.
