TV News: SyFy/USA have cancelled Chucky after 3 seasons. I’m a little surprised, based on the cliffhanger, but also that final season was a bit off the rails if we are being honest. Creatively, it needed a reboot anyway, and new writers. It was getting so bonkers that I wouldn’t be surprised if Season 4 was in space.

SNL went live last night with audio description. I’m gonna wait and see if/when it goes to Peacock. Fun fact: Fight Night *still* does not have audio description. Yes, I keep checking. I would love the animated Everybody Hates Chris revival to have audio description, and also be on Paramount Plus, but such is life.
I usually want to talk about TV, and only TV here, but at some point in the future, during October, I’ll be releasing In A violent Nature. The audio description track here is, to put it politely, not good. Unacceptable? Setting TTS audio description aside, this might be the worst audio description, because it has so much advantage given. The film has very little dialogue, and exists basically for extreme gore. The gore is lightly described, but other writers have done much better work in this genre. If Micah Grossman can’t write a horror description track, then Micah needs to turn down the gig. I’ll have more thoughts later, but of everything I experienced yesterday with audio description, there’s nothing I’d rather talk about more than to let you know this thing is a dumpster fire.
And a spoiler: the film is awful too. One of those films where you’re like “Pacing? What is pacing?” Long, tedious, dumb, obnoxious, and unintentionally funny. Shudder has two far better titles this year, I don’t understand the hype for this.
