TV Shows Watched: The Old man: S2E2 (Hulu) with audio description, The Aark: S2E8 (Peacock) with audio description, 911: S6E19 (Hulu) with audio description, Young Sheldon: S3E9 (MAX) with audio description, Emily In Paris: S4E5 (Netflix) with audio description, Bad Monkey: S1E5 (Apple Plus) with Audio Description), Tulsa King: S2E1 (Paramount Plus) with audio description, and the Emmy Awards (ABC) with Live Audio Description. I did check Fight Night again, but still no audio description.

Podcasts: None.

YouTube: The Film Drunk (Reviews of Enorah, Emilia Perez, and Seed Of The Sacred Fig), The Awards Contender (review: Conclave), and I definitely watched someone else review Queer, but I totally forgot who.

Movies: Babes (Apple Store) with audio description, Uncle Buck (Netflix) with audio description, and Sound Of Freedom (Amazon) with TTS

Bits and pieces day:

Since I don’t plan on writing another full review of Sound Of Freedom, it was mostly to replace eventually my review without audio description on YouTube, I’ll mention that the TTS track translates none of the Spanish in the film. I’d say about 10% of the dialog is in Spanish. So, this is unfortunate. Angel Studios should be able to pass on audio description to Amazon, but I guess they really do not care about their blind fans.

Who does care? paramount freaking Plus coming in clutch with some fantastic Tulsa King narration. I am so happy that whatever the hell was happening to the audio description in Season 1 has been fixed. I think this is Andrew Thatcher, but it is definitely the guy who works heavily for Paramount, and Media Access Group, and I love this description now. Thank you so much for making quality audio description a priority.

But, yeah, this is my only chance to talk about the Emmys, which I watched a large chunk of before falling asleep. I loved the hosts, but I started on the red carpet, and worked my way through the show. There was a moment I didn’t understand. Something about Bob rolling behind someone? I forget who was speaking. I want to say Candice Bergen, but that might not have been her moment. The description of the people, considering it is live, is excellent. I could tell that trying to describe the non-traditional Alan Cumming took a second to find the right words, but it all came together. I loved that I heard described commercials. That Kraft Mac and cheese commercial. Something else. The pre-show navigated the description well, often using the time to point out when they would do like a picture-in-picture thing, and show other arrivals while talking to someone on the red carpet. That was done very well. Aside from audio description, Candice seemed to be struggling a bit there in the beginning, and I was worried for her. Of the wins I saw, I’m happy Hacks won some things, but I’m elated that The Traitors won Best reality Show in only its second season, with Alan winning host. Rupaul had her day, it’s time to move along to the hot new thing.
