I don’t really have audio description stuff, but it’s funny how quickly a show can go from Gold to Dogshit. The umbrella Academy weighted their options, the show runners knew they would inevitably piss people off, and I read an article explaining why Sloane is not in the final season, her character gets no closure, and the world makes no sense. When the timeline reset at the end of Season 3, Luther had died, and was brought back to life. Sloane was still alive. She and Ben were both Sparrows. It makes zero sense that en is here, and she isn’t, because this version is not their Ben. Just like this is not their Hargreaves. The decision to cut Sloane, in an interview with one of the writers/showrunners came about seemingly as a reaction to the reduced episode order. I’m sorry, that’s not a reason to fuck your show over a cliff.

“I didn’t get to tell the Sloane/Luther storyline I wanted to this season.”

So… you just didn’t tell one at all? Fuck what you want, Sloane could have easily popped up at any point, and it could just be a new idea. Writers and showrunners that lack the ability to adapt to change shouldn’t be working. Full Stop.

One of the things I even mentioned at the beginning of this season in my first video was “where is Sloane?”, and it was something I mentioned in my finale recap that left everyone on a cliffhanger on Season 3. Obviously, I can’t be the only one, and the decision to just unceremoniously send her character off because you got 6 episodes instead of 10, is like saying that the gang couldn’t have just found Sloan? Like, she was somewhere else? There’s a notable timejump at the beginning of Season 4, and you could have EASILY had Luther give quick exposition on how he ran into Sloane, and they’re back together. OR that he found Sloane, and they broke up off camera in the time jump. She could have been Jennifer. How nuts would that have been? If she reappeared as someone else, having no memory of anything? There are 10,000 possibilities for her character, but you only saw one, and when you couldn’t figure it out, you told the fans they weren’t worthy of having finality, and just decided to not do it at all.

I’ll finish this show, but I hate it now. Thanks for ruining it. This is a great case for not letting writers and showrunners ever do press. Had I not heard them speak, and not seen her, I would have been mad, but now I want to burn this show down. It is the worst reason to not do something. Cut due to lack of flexibility in vision.
