I definitely jumped in on The Acolyte (Disney Plus), since it’s “the moment”. I’m just not binge watching both episodes on the same day. So the first episode was bad ass, introduced great characters, and a mystery I’m actually interested in. The actors and actresses as interesting and top notch. i didn’t realize that was Carrie Anne moss in that opening sequence until I checked IMDB. We’ve also got Dafne Keen here being a total badass again. She’s using all that training she got from Logan, clearly. This is my favorite Star Wars show since the Mandalorian showed us that we could have great Star Wars television. Sorry to Andor and Ashoka, but this is where it is at. The audio description was pretty incredible, my only little quibble is that the way it is presented, we are shown one bad girl at the top, and later the Jedi police are arresting another girl for it. If we saw the face of the other girl, as a sighted audience, it might be worth noting that this is clearly a different girl, and definitely not the killer. I was left wondering if she had some weird twin or clone. Then… I checked iMDB, but not everyone would.

I also think I’m caught up on Bridgerton (Netflix) for now, until the second part drops. It ends with a not surprising proposal that is supposed to feel surprising. We all saw it coming. I do enjoy this show now though, and I think the audio description is really good. Especially when things get spicy.

Dark Matter (Apple Plus) had a Ryan problem this week. But, there are tons of Ryan’s out there in the world. I’ll say this version of Jason is a dick, for sure, and without his backstory, he does seem like the evil doppelgänger. In order for this show to work, they can’t resolve this that easily that quickly. I understand that. I’m interested in how they leave the first season.

If you hear that sound, it’s the sound of my heart slowly breaking. this third season of the Outlaws (Amazon) is unnecessary, and they are struggling to get that chemistry back while also missing Christopher Walken. Jessica Gunning is having a moment, so that’s a good thing, but as much as I adore the first two seasons, I hate to say… please cancel this. Luckily, only 3 episodes left.

I watched another episode of Mulligan (Netflix), which is not a top tier adult animation. If Dana Carvey wasn’t voicing, I would not have come back. It’s occasionally funny, but with the amount of adult animation we currently have, this is not where I feel like we need to keep it around.

In the realm of older shows, I did catch up on another Season 5 episode of 911 (Hulu) which had audio description, and also I’m slowly getting through Mr Robot (Amazon) for the first time with audio description.
