Looks like NBC is trying to review Suits, with a pilot order for Suits: LA. Also, Netflix made a giant announcement yesterday confirming several series will bow in 2024, including the final seasons of Sweet Tooth, Umbrella Academy, and Cobra Kai, along with new seasons of The Diplomat, Emily In Paris, That 90’s Show, The Night Agent, and Outer Banks. Waiting until 2025 for sure, are Stranger Things, Wednesday, Virgin River, and Ginny and Georgia. That last one surprised me, as it doesn’t seem like a show that takes a long time to put together, and with the relative youth needed for half of that pairing to work, generally we try to make shows with kids in it happen quicker as they tend to age up and look old. Weird.
I did decide to go with Boy Swallows The Universe (Netflix) another time. The show is so odd. Who is this for? It has a child lead and is quirky in a way that suggests it is aimed at a younger audience, but it also features this one random extreme gore sequence. It was something so odd, it didn’t even need to be there. It doesn’t fit with the mold of the show. Does anyone like this? Audio Description wise, I don’t really have a problem. I could use more description of what the brother who never speaks is doing. Other than that, it’s not bad.
The Traitors (Peacock) saw the gang lose 20K, as no one predicted who got poisoned. I know Fedra was mad at Parvati for pointing out the likelihood that a Housewife is a traitor, but I would be thinking the same thing. From day one, I would have assumed Alan tapped a Housewife since there are quite a few, and that the other traitors were likely all from other shows, like one Survivor contestant, and maybe one Big Brother. Which is close to what happened. I’m excited for Kate’s return. Can’t wait. I hope she has immunity from the first elimination just to be safe.
Ghosts UK (Paramount Plus) had a dinner party type episode that was reminiscent of something I feel like I saw in the US Ghosts, and Fargo (Hulu) had some exceptional audio description during Dot’s puppet show. Her story was pretty powerful.
