Well, to be honest its been awhile since I have been to a REAL Rock show as I have had my head buried deep into the world of Country Music the past 2 years. But last night I was given the opportunity thanks to the folks over at Warner Music Canada to go and chill out with The Sheepdogs at an intimate venue ( Boots & Bourbon Saloon) in downtown Toronto. Now don't get me wrong I know who The Sheepdogs are and totally was a fan before walking into the venue. But the minute the music started... WOW.

I hadn't seen them live, I had heard them on the radio and let me tell you radio doesn't do these guys justice. They know how to bring it. Now mind you they were working with a pretty small stage and with 5 guys on it, it's pretty tight to the ability to wander around and get active on stage was limited. The music was however was outstanding the way these guys grind out each song and you can see the passion for what they do. And usually when you are performing the new stuff for the first time its great to see the reaction in the artists face when the crowd is diggin' the new stuff. Just watching how the boys mastered their instruments with ease to crank out some totally wicked ass tunes. The set kicked off with the first cut off the new record I'm Gonna Be Myself and then they proceeded to play for a solid hour performing another 5 songs off the new album (See Set List below) along with a Bob Seger Cover of Rosalie which the boys nailed.

I would have to say my personal favourite of the night would have been when the boys started blasting Feeling Good about half way through the set. I know this was a CD Release Party to hear the new stuff but not having see the guys live before and to hear that opening was just fuckin' awesome. I love the feel of the music these guys bring to the table. The old 70's feel of rock and roll is alive and well with the Sheepdogs and from what we heard off the new stuff, I am pretty excited to see these boys again on a bigger stage with a little longer set! If you made it out to the show I would love to hear your thoughts and which of the new tracks did you like the most? My favorite of the new tracks played was Take A Trip. Really loved the sound on that one. Here are some more pics from the night! Don't forget to head over and pre-order Future Nostalgia here.
