Netflix has just unveiled the trailer for The Serpent series, in which Tahar Rahim plays the criminal Charles Sobhraj. To discover on the platform from April 2.
We were impatiently awaiting the Netflix broadcast of the Serpent, a co-production between the platform and the BBC, we now know the date. Subscribers will be able to binge-watcher the mini-series from April 2 and discover the French actor in a compositional role. Tahar Rahim is unrecognizable in the trailer where he takes on the features of Charles Sobhraj, a criminal who eluded authorities for years before being finally arrested and tried for many assassinations (twenty) around the world. His speciality ? Seduce its victims, rob them and then kill them. It was even given the nickname "snake", so difficult it was to catch it. In the mini-series, Billy Howle slips into the shoes of Dutch diplomat Herman Knippenberg who tracks down the serial killer, while Jenna Coleman plays Charles' companion, Marie-Andrée Leclerc.
Aired in early January in England, The Serpent received generally positive reviews, notably highlighting the performance of Tahar Rahim. It also generated 31 million views (including VOD). Mini-series requires, it will only consist of 8 episodes of 60 minutes.
