Story: The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel starts as Sonny (Patel) is looking to expand to a second location. He has recruited regular Muriel (Smith) to help him get investment as his fiancée Sinaina (Desai) is preparing for their wedding.
As Sonny is continuing to plan for his big event, he believes a new visitor Guy Chambers (Gere) is an inspector. He goes out of his way to treat him differently in front of his guests. Meanwhile, the other regulars have their own adventures in their later lives.

The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel is a romantic comedy following the continuing exploits of Sonny and his guests. It sees him looking to continue to grow the brand, only to find stumbling blocks along the way. All while the guests get to make the most of the later years.
This is a fun sequel, it has plenty of characters getting up to their own adventures. It gets to show a new life people went on to live in a new country and learning a new culture. While it also includes a hotel manager trying his best to make more of his career. There are great performances with Maggie Smith stealing the show for the most part.
